YWCA Richmond has announced its honorees for the 2022 Class of Outstanding Women Awards. The 42nd annual luncheon will be held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center at 11:30 a.m. on May 10 and will be presented by Dominion Energy, Markel, and Altria. The winners, who have been nominated in nine different categories, are as follows:

● Zenobia Bey – Arts and Culture: Bey has created youth-led engagement programs and works with the youth in Richmond Public Schools as well as various community-based spaces. She focuses on uplifting them to their potential in the Richmond, Tri-Cities and in the future, Tidewater Region.

● Carter M. Reid – Business: Reid currently serves as the President of Dominion Energy’s services company and is responsible for the administrative services and the company’s supply chain. She has also served on various non-profit boards, including The Community Foundation and the Richmond SPCA.

● Kimberly L. Martin – Education: Martin created the KLSM Foundation in an effort to provide book scholarships for new Virginia students attending colleges and universities. Her foundation has supported thirty-one colleges and has awarded students up to $384,745 for textbooks and supplies.

● Jill A. McCormick – Human Relations & Faith in Action: McCormick has worked as a senior program officer for the Community Foundation of Greater Richmond and has staffed many major grantmaking and capacity building programs. She has also served as executive director of the Cabell Foundation and Brookfield Foundation while still leading the Jackson Foundation.

● Zakia McKensey – Health & Science: McKensey established Fan Free Clinc’s (now Health Brigade) first transgender clinic and began working for Richmond City Health Districts as a disease intervention specialist. She is an advocate for LGBTQ citizens, especially trans women of color.

● Kimberly C. MacLeod – Law & Government: Macleod is a corporate finance partner at Hunton Andrews Kurth and oversees the firm’s pro bono engagements. MacLeod is also the driving force behind Hunton’s Womens Mentoring Circle initiative.

● Rasheeda N. Creighton – Marketing & Media: Creighton is the founder and CEO of The 3Fifty Group and The Jackson Ward Collective. She was also the first executive director of Capital One’s 1717 Innovation Center and has served on various boards including, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond and the Virginia Council on Economic Education.

● Karen Legato – Nonprofit Leadership: Legato has served in the nonprofit sector for 30 years and has focused on promoting human health and welfare for those marginalized. She is now the executive director of Health Brigade, the oldest free clinic in Virginia.

● Pam Mines – Volunteerism: Mines is the founder of the JP JumPers Foundation and raises money and awareness for those in the special needs community. She has also led the legislation to establish “JP’s Law” (named after her son who has Autism) in both Virginia and Washington D.C.

“The 42nd class of Outstanding Women Award honorees are truly representative of the resilience and opportunity women have created in our region,” said YWCA Richmond CEO Linda Tissiere. “Providing supports for working mothers, identifying areas of opportunity for educational access and incentivizing corporate cultural shifts to support the advancement of women is an essential component of creating a more equitable workforce for Virginia women. The class of 2022 includes nine women who embody this work and have helped Richmond become a stronger and healthier community.”
