The proclamation highlights the two largest producers of clean energy in the state – the North Anna Nuclear Generating Station and Surry Nuclear Power Plant, which combine to produce baseload power every day. The clean energy sector supported more than 197,000 jobs in Virginia in 2022, according to the proclamation.

“Virginia faces an opportunity and challenge to meet unprecedented growth in energy demand with increasingly clean energy sources,” Youngkin said. “Virginia must come together with an all-of-the-above energy plan to assert American energy leadership and ensure low-cost reliable energy at home.”

Youngkin's proclamation was part of the eighth-annual Annual National Clean Energy Week.
