Woman, infant struck by vehicle in Varina hit-and-run

Henrico Police say they are continuing their investigation into a hit-and-run crash that happened in the Varina District of the county.
According to police, Friday morning at 1:15 a.m. they were called to the 5700 block of Nine Mile Road for a reported vehicle versus pedestrian crash. Once on scene, officers say they found an adult female and an infant who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.
"Both victims were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries," Henrico Police would explain in a release.
The vehicle that was involved in the crash did not stay at the scene.
