Willow Lawn has rolled out a contact-free way for customers to return to shopping at all of its stores, which it’s dubbed “The Pick-Up.”

The program, which began earlier this month, expands upon an already popular curbside pick-up program created for restaurants at the shopping center at the start of the COVID-19 mandatory closings.

Customers will be able to place orders directly with stores by phone or online and arrange for same-day pick-up, or pick-up at a time most convenient to them.

“The customer experience is of the utmost importance to us”, said Jeff Van Horn, owner of The Lucky Road running store at Willow Lawn.

COVID-19 is forcing businesses to adapt to this new normal of social distancing and quarantining.

“This has been a big change for us at the store, but customers have been very appreciative of our service. There has been almost no change in business,” said Leslie DeAlt, a store associate at Lenscrafters at Willow Lawn.

Even though the program was designed as a response to the pandemic, it will remain in effect once things are back to normal, too.

“We see this as a long-term solution to finding even more convenient ways for customers to shop,” said Senior Leasing Associate Jenn Davidson of Federal Realty Trust, which manages Willow Lawn.

Regency Square mall and Short Pump Town Center also been affected by the pandemic.

Regency officials recently said in a statement on Facebook that BetterMed and other outparcel businesses will be open on an adjusted basis.

Short Pump Town Center’s family events have moved online to live stream on Facebook.
