The Treasures of the Earth Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show will take place at Richmond Raceway on Sept. 22 from noon to 6 p.m. and on Sept. 23-24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show features estate, classic, handcrafted and fashion jewelry made from a variety of metals, as well as crystals, minerals and fossils. The River City Community Players will present “The Savannah Sipping Society” at The Gayton Kirk Presbyterian Church, 11421 Gayton Road. A Jones Hope Wooten Comedy, “The Savannah Sipping Society” is about four Southern women who all need to escape the dullness of their day-to-day routine. They are drawn together by fate – and an impromptu happy hour – and they decide it’s time to reclaim their enthusiasm for life. The Henrico Theatre Company will present “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen at 8 p.m. Sept. 22-23 and at 3 p.m. Sept. 24. A progressive white couple’s proud liberal sensibilities are put to the test when their daughter brings her Black fiance home to meet them. Blindsided by their daughter’s whirlwind romance, they quickly come to realize the difference between supporting a mixed-race couple in your newspaper and welcoming one into your family – especially in 1967.
