Two comedians will perform at the Richmond Funny Bone at Short Pump Town Center this weekend: Jessica “Jess Hilarious” Moore at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sept. 1 and 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Sept. 2, and Ryan Davis at 7 p.m. Sept. 3. The Springs Recreation Center, 302 Lee Avenue in Highland Springs, will hold a Community Open House on Sunday, Sept. 3 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Henrico officials will be celebrating the installation of a new playground and the re-opening of the community center, which includes a creative arts studio, music production studio and game room. Atomic Light Orchestra, an Electric Light Orchestra tribute band, will perform at The Tin Pan, 8982 Quioccasin Road, on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. The Baltimore-based six-piece includes Dennis Schocket (guitar, lead vocals), Gregg Simmons (guitar, lead vocals), Bronson Wagner (bass, keys, lead vocals), Phil Brotman (drums), John Kelly (keyboard, vocals) and Greta Thomas (violin). ALO was formed after attending an ELO concert in 2018. They perform all songs without the use of computers or pre-recorded sounds. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $30. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden will offer free admission to all visitors during Genworth Free Community Day on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4. Admission includes the Incanto: An Oasis of Lyrical Sculpture exhibit and M&T Bank Butterflies LIVE! (the line will close at 3:30 p.m. to ensure all visitors in line can see the exhibit).
