Henrico County will host a neighborhood Block Party in celebration of Juneteenth at Hidden Creek Park, 2417 Brockway Lane, on Friday, June 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. During this backyard BBQ there will be a live DJ, rock climbing wall, game room and community gardening project. Participate in the scavenger hunt to enter a raffle. Grilled hot dogs and ice cream will be provided while supplies last. Admission is free. The 54th annual Richmond Region AACA Car Show and Swap Meet will take place on the grounds of St. Joseph’s Villa on Saturday, June 10 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Classes for virtually every make and model of car, truck and motorcycle will be available with judging performed by an experienced panel. This year’s special feature is factory hi-performance cars from the early 1900s up to today. The event also includes an automotive flea market, antique car rides, a display of antique fire trucks, a fashion show featuring clothing from the past 100 years, a youth judging program, food trucks and more. General admission is $7.50 in advance and $10 at the gate. Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. All ticket proceeds benefit St. Joseph’s Villa. One Voice Chorus, with special guests the VCU Health Orchestra, will present its spring concert June 10 at 4 p.m. at Derbyshire Baptist Church, 8800 Derbyshire Road. Suggested donation is $16. The Dorey Park Farmers Market this summer will continue its evening concert series featuring local RVA bands. The Second Saturdays series will take place at the market every second Saturday of the month from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The performer June 10 will be Full Moon Fever. Gates open at 6 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket. Food, beer and other drinks will be available for purchase (no outside alcohol is permitted). Admission is free. Jewish Family Theatre’s Second Stage will present “The Prom” at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 11 at the Weinstein JCC. “The Prom,” a musical by Chad Beguelin, Bob Martin and Matthew Sklar, tells the story of Broadway’s brassiest stars joining forces with a courageous girl and the town’s citizens on a mission to transform lives. The cast consists of more than 20 teens and young adults and is directed and choreographed by Hannah Clinton, with musical direction by Elle Meerovich.
