Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Road in Varina, will be the site of several events on Saturday, June 3. The Dorey Park Farmers Market will open for the season from 9 a.m. to noon. Local farmers and artisans will be selling a variety of fresh produce, baked goods, handcrafted items and more. DPFM, Henrico Recreation and Parks and the Varina Ruritan Club also will host the annual Celebrate Varina event from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be community vendors from the Varina area, live music, food trucks, an antique farm equipment display, entertainment for kids and more. Additionally, at 11:30 a.m., Henrico officials will dedicate and open the new Dorey Spray Park, located adjacent to the barn. Admission to all three events is free. Click here for details.


Henrico Master Gardeners will hold their annual Spring Plant Sale and Pollinator Festival on Saturday, June 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Deep Run Recreation Center, 9900 Ridgefield Parkway. Master Gardeners will be selling plants from their own gardens, pre-made floral arrangements and gently-used gardening items at a “Garden Treasures” table. The event also will include educational displays, a plant clinic to answer gardening questions, hands-on children’s activities (including story time and a photo booth), entertainment by William (Tripp) and Jenny Johnson of The Cary Street Ramblers, food trucks, and more. Henrico County will host a neighborhood Block Party in celebration of Juneteenth at Fairfield Middle School, 5121 Nine Mile Road, on Saturday, June 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The carnival-themed event will feature a bouncy house, dunk tank, games and prizes, a live DJ, food trucks, resource vendors sharing information and more. The Illuminate Richmond Arts & Wellness Festival will take place Sunday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Richmond Marriott Short Pump, 4240 Dominion Boulevard. The festival will feature holistic mini-sessions related to energywork, bodywork and intuitive readers, as well as shopping for crystals, essential oils, luxurious spa products, jewelry, gifts and more. Comic hypnotist Flip Orley will perform at the CSz Richmond Theater, 8906-H West Broad Street, on Sunday, June 4 at 7 p.m. No two performances are alike as the humor comes from the volunteers themselves.
