Cobb Technologies, located at 1000 Technology Park Drive in Glen Allen, will host Chili for Charity on Saturday, Feb. 11 from noon to 3 p.m. The family-friendly cookoff supports and celebrates people with special needs. The event will include chili tasting and other food, games, prizes, performances by Miracles in Motion dancers, and more. The Henrico Theatre, 305 East Nine Mile Road in Highland Springs, will show the film “Pride” (PG, 2007, 104 minutes) at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Feb. 11 and at 3 p.m. Feb. 12. In this uplifting film based on a true story, coach Jim Ellis (Terrence Howard) shocks the community and changes lives when, aided by a local janitor (Bernie Mac), he sets out to form Philadelphia's first black swim team. Choeur du Roi, University of Richmond’s oldest co-ed a cappella group, will present “King of Hearts” on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Camp Concert Hall at the Modlin Center for the Arts. Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1101 Horsepen Road, will host an open house from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12. Squad members will give tours of the station and ambulances, offer free public education classes on CPR and bleeding control, give free vital checks and meet with the public. They also will serve pancakes, sweet treats and coffee/hot chocolate to everyone who attends.
