The Henrico Theatre Company will present “The Outsider” at 8 p.m. Sept. 23-24 and at 3 p.m. Sept. 25 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. This comedy, written by Paul Slade Smith, skewers politics and celebrates democracy. It centers around Ned Newley, who might be the worst candidate to ever run for office. The Treasures of the Earth Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 23 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 24-25 at Richmond Raceway. The show features estate, classic, handcrafted and fashion jewelry made from a variety of metals, as well as crystals, minerals and fossils. The Latin Ballet of Virginia will present “Spanish Influences on Latin Dance” on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. at Glen Allen Library and at 2 p.m. at Twin Hickory Library. Dance and music are incorporated into this one-hour, interactive master class which introduces historical and cultural information about Spanish influences on the development of Latin dance.
