Actor, comedian, writer and producer David Koechner will perform at the Richmond Funny Bone at 7:30 p.m. July 29 and at 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. July 30. Koechner is most known for his roles as Todd Packer on “The Office” and Champ Kind from “Anchorman.” Tickets are $30. Koechner also will participate in “Trivia with Todd Packer” at 3:30 p.m. July 30. Teams will compete for prizes while also hearing behind-the-scenes stories about his time on “The Office.” This show also features a Q&A, meet-and-greet and pictures with the comedian. West Broad Village will host “Movies Under the Stars” featuring classic family-friendly films on Fridays in July. The final movie on July 29 will be “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” The movie starts at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. The University of Richmond will hold its annual Big Yard Sale featuring students’ discards on Saturday, July 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on New Fraternity Row. The sale keeps departing students’ household items out of a landfill. Items for sale include clothing, mini refrigerators, microwaves, shoes, household items, furniture, sporting equipment, electronics and more. Cash or check only. The sale is a joint project between the Sierra Club Falls of the James Group and the University of Richmond. Goodwill is a supporting partner. Real Talk With Monica and Rising Towards Success will host the third annual RVA Community Fun Day on Saturday, July 30 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 North Laburnum Avenue. This will be the return of the event following its cancellation in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19. This year’s theme will be ‘Celebrating Our Heroes.’ There will be more than 60 vendors at the event, with fun fitness activities, train rides by the Play RVA Express Train, a petting zone by Teeny Tiny Farm, awards, speakers, cultural performances, and music by DJ Chuck Stone and Richmond’s own Legendary ‘The Katz Band.’ Admission is free and open to the public.
