The University of Richmond Department of Theatre and Dance will present “Standing Together, 6 Feet Apart” at 8 p.m. Apr. 15, 7:30 p.m. Apr. 16 and at 2 p.m. Apr. 17 in Alice Jepson Theatre. Created and conceptualized by Chuck Mike, “Standing Together, 6 Feet Apart” is a theatrical collage of stories gathered from individual experiences within the Richmond community during two pandemics – COVID-19 and the demand for racial justice mobilized by the death of George Floyd. Featuring special guest appearances by Richmond's first Poet Laureate, Roscoe Burnems, and popular Richmond songstress Nickey McMullen, an eclectic ensemble reenacts the courageous personal narratives of Richmonders’ encounters with fear, sadness, confusion, and anger against a tapestry of resilience, hope, and re-awakenings. Admission is free, but tickets are required. For details, call 289-8980 or visit modlin.richmond.edu.
