After debuting in New York last year, the Hollowed Harvest will be expanding into the Richmond region for the 2021 Halloween season. Held at Camp Hanover, this family-friendly Jack-O’-Lantern festival features dozens of larger-than-life displays made from more than 7,000 jack-o′-lanterns, some towering as tall as two stories and spanning more than 50-feet in length. The festival is open Thursday through Sunday through Oct. 31. Tickets start at $16 and must be purchased in advance. Times slots are first-come, first-served. The Shady Grove Coffeehouse at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 11105 Cauthorne Road in Glen Allen, will present the April Verch Duo on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Children 12 and under are admitted to all concerts free of charge; teens 13-18 are admitted at half price. Net proceeds benefit UUCC. The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen will present An Afternoon of Oktoberfest with The Sauerkrauts on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. Featuring genuine Bavarian music and authentic costumes, The Sauerkrauts formed in 1977 entirely of members from the ACCA Temple Million Dollar Band. The Sauerkrauts are now a group of volunteer musicians donating their time and talents to support the Shriners mission – to provide free health care to children and their families at one of their 22 hospitals worldwide.
