Scott Wichmann will perform Friday, April 18 at 8 p.m. at The Tin Pan, 8982 Quioccasin Road. Blending the best of the Rat Pack, Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme and more, Wichmann proves he is "Mister Showtime" by bringing back the style and flair of a bygone era with his signature charisma. Varina Library, 1875 New Market Road, will present "Hand Crafted: A Revolution in Quilting" from 11 a.m. to noon. Alicia Thomas, executive director of the Virginia Quilt Museum, will discuss how quilting has changed, and in some ways, stayed the same over the course of the past 250 years, focusing on how it has always been an art form that allowed women to express their opinions. Quilts will be present from the museum education collection, including an unfinished quilt top from 1874 and the Virginia Quilt made in 1991 to commemorate Virginia history. This project is supported in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission (VA250). Henrico Recreation & Parks, Keep Henrico Beautiful and H.E.A.R.T will host a festival celebrating Earth Day on Saturday, April 19 from noon to 3 p.m. at Deep Run Park. There will be live music, local vendors, an electric vehicle display, a guided tree tour, outdoor fitness activities, kayaking with RVA Paddlesports, a sensory experience in partnership with Jacob’s Chance, a rock wall, food trucks, and more. Learn about sustainability initiatives and resources available in Henrico County, such as energy efficiency, residential solar, electric vehicles, recycling, preserving green space, air quality, and more. The inaugural Outskirts Fest - a collaborative event between Blue Bee Cider, Black Heath Meadery and Brainstorm Brewhouse - will take place Saturday, April 19 from noon to 6 p.m. at Blue Bee Cider, 4811 Bethlehem Road. Celebrate togetherness by toasting to cider, mead and beer in the Dabney Corridor. There will be music and food from Nam Prik Pao, KoBop, Heal Thy Self, and SweetNPurdy. Admission is free.
