The program "Last Seen: Finding Family After the Civil War" will take place Saturday, Feb. 15 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Meadow Farm's Parsons Community Center. After the Civil War, African Americans across the United States desperately sought information on relatives who had self-emancipated, been sold from their families, or fought in the war. In a powerful twist, they repurposed a tool of enslavement to rebuild the bonds the system sought to destroy.
