Two comedians will perform at the Richmond Funny Bone this weekend: Greg Warren at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Jan. 31 and 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Feb. 1, and Karen Morgan at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 2. Warren recently released his special The Salesman, co-produced by Nate Bargatze and 800 Pound Gorilla Media. The project tells the story of his post-college phase when he had a stint selling Jif and Pringles for Procter & Gamble which eventually led to his decision to become a full-time comedian. Morgan is a former trial attorney who began her comedy career as a finalist on Nickelodeon Television’s Search for the Funniest Mom in America. Damn The Torpedoes – A Tom Petty Concert Experience – will perform at The Tin Pan on Friday, Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. The band, consisting of Rich Kubicz, Lee Boice, Gary Castelluccio, Jon Provan and Ross Kantor, performs Petty's signature riffs and harmonies, along with some fresh twists that are often inspired in the moment. As part of Henrico County Public Library's commemoration of Black History Month, two programs will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Fairfield Library. Musician Justin Golden will perform and discuss the characteristics of Piedmont Blues style guitar from 11 a.m. to noon. Elegba Folklore Society will present "The Talking Drum" from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. It is a music and spoken word concert of African and African American folktales. Admission to both events is free. The Shady Grove Coffeehouse at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 11105 Cauthorne Road in Glen Allen, will present The Honey Dewdrops on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. Duo Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish have long felt the push-and-pull between their original roots in the Appalachian Mountains and their current home in urban Baltimore. Their eighth album was released last year and this performance will include songs from it. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door; teens 13-18 are admitted at half price, and children 12 and under are free.
