The annual Craftsmen’s Christmas Classic art and craft show will be held Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Richmond Raceway. Thousands of items (pottery, fine art, glass, jewelry, baskets, clothing, furniture, photography, specialty foods and more) will be available to purchase from functional and whimsical to decorative, conservative and funky. Meet the artists and exhibitors and see the creative process in action. Admission, which is valid for all three days with a free return pass, is $10 for adults (ages 13+), $1 for children 6-12, and free for ages five and below. Parking is free. The Henrico Theatre Company will present "Plaid Tidings" at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen Nov. 1-2 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. In this musical comedy by Stuart Ross, the legendary Plaids come back to Earth to spread joy with the greatest holiday hits of the ages, after the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know they're needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world. After a five-year hiatus, the RVA MakerFest returns Saturday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Deep Run High School, 4801 Twin Hickory Road. This year’s theme, “Resurgence,” celebrates the revival of creativity, innovation, and community spirit. The RVA MakerFest – presented by Blue Cheese Robotics and Build, RVA of The Build Forward Foundation – is a free, family-friendly event that showcases the vibrant maker community of Richmond, Va. and surrounding areas. RVA MakerFest 2024 will feature local makers, tinkerers, hobbyists, and entrepreneurs demonstrating their skills in robotics, science, art, technology, engineering, sustainability, food, music, and fashion. Attendees can expect hands-on activities, interactive workshops, live demonstrations, sustainable technology exhibits, art installations, FIRST Robotics demonstrations by award-winning FRC teams, local food trucks, and the opportunity to purchase handmade goods directly from creators. Henrico Recreation and Parks will host its first annual Holiday Artisan Market on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Meadow Farm Museum at Crump Park.
