The Glen Allen Ruritan Club and Henrico Recreation & Parks will host the 28th Annual Glen Allen Day on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Crump Park. The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a parade starting at the intersection of John Cussons Drive and Mountain Road and traveling to Meadow Farm/Crump Park. Festivities will take place inside the park from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. including live music (Mackenzie Roark, Todd Murray and The Taters), vendors, food trucks, children’s activities, and more. The Dachshund Enlightenment Foundation will host its 3rd annual RVA Dachtoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Richmond Raceway Complex. Enjoy a day of dachshund-themed fun for families and dogs, including wiener dog racing, costume contests, guest speakers, demonstrations, vendors, raffles, and more. Tickets at the door are $15. The Junior League of Richmond will present its 19th Annual Touch a Truck event on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Richmond Raceway. This interactive event allows children to see, touch and safely explore their favorite big trucks and heavy machinery, as well as to meet the personnel who protect, serve and build the Richmond community. There will be other activities and entertainment as well. General admission from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is $12 per ticket. Children under age one are admitted free. The Richmond Cards & Collectibles Show will take place Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Road. Hosted by Pirate Dog Cards & Collectibles, the show will feature buying, selling and trading of sports cards, vintage and modern cards, Pokémon cards, comic books, collectibles, unopened wax packs, hobby supplies, and more. The Way Church will host its 4th Annual Family Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Short Pump Park. There will be giant inflatables, a petting zoo, face painters, games and prizes, raffle giveaways, balloon twisters, and more. Admission is free and open to the community. Click here for details.
