RVA-based Out of Uniform will perform at the Henrico Theatre in Highland Springs on Friday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. The group of friends – Rocky, Philip, Paul and Doug – formed the acoustic bluegrass/country cover band two years ago. The Richmond Showmasters Gun Show will be held at the Richmond Raceway Complex from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 24 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 25. Vendors at approximately 800 tables will sell, buy or trade guns, swords, knives, decoys, hunting supplies, reloading supplies and components, ammo, books, militaria and more. There also will be free 15-minute gun cleaning seminars, concealed carry classes, and other workshops. Admission is $14; children ages 12-17 are $7 and children under 12 are admitted free with a supervising adult. A $1 off coupon is available online. Parking is free. The Henrico Theatre, 305 East Nine Mile Road, will show three movies this weekend: "Shrek 2" at 3 p.m. Aug. 24, "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" at 8 p.m. Aug. 24, and "If" at 3 p.m. Aug. 25. Henrico Recreation and Parks will present Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters in Henrico on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Meadow Farm’s Parsons Community Center. Country music icons Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters once called Henrico County home. Learn about the various people, events and iconic radio broadcasts that helped fuel their meteoric rise to fame. Admission is free, and no registration is required. The Choirs of Boys & Girls of Washington National Cathedral will perform in the sanctuary at River Road Church, 8000 River Road, on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
