Mountain Highway will perform at the Henrico Theatre in Highland Springs on Friday, June 28 at 7 p.m. This family group performs bluegrass, country and gospel music originally made famous by popular musicians like Bill Monroe, the Carter Family, Ralph Stanley, The Eagles and Linda Ronstadt. There’s no such thing as a secret in Stewiacke. Not when the gossips meet for coffee every day at the local diner. Vi, Rita, Mary Ellen and Janine are all as close as can be, and they know everybody’s business. But when Sean, a heartbroken doctor, moves in to take a temporary job at the clinic, he tips the Maritime town, that’s famous for being halfway between the North Pole and the equator, off its axis. The Adopt Haiti Project will host the 4th annual Caribbean American Heritage Festival and Parade from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 at Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Road in Varina. The festival, organized to commemorate Caribbean American Heritage month, aims to showcase the vibrant culture, food, art, dance, music and diversity of Caribbean nations. There will be a variety of attractions and activities for attendees of all ages, including live performances, food trucks and vendors, an arts and crafts area, art exhibits, interactive workshops, and more. The Altered Bring Whatcha Got (BWG) Summerfest will take place Saturday, June 29 at Richmond Raceway. In addition to an all inclusive car show competition with awards (open to all makes and models), there will be live music, Dad Bod and bikini contests, kids' activities, car limbo, prizes and raffles, vendors and more. There also will be the opportunity to drive your own car around the Raceway track. General admission is $40 in advance online and $45 at the gate for adults and $19 for children 15 and under.
