CharacterWorks, a faith-based after-school theater program, will present Disney’s “Finding Nemo Jr.” at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen May 24-26. A musical adaptation based on the beloved 2003 Pixar movie “Finding Nemo,” the story follows Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, who lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. The show includes favorite characters like Dory and the Tank Gang and memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food” and “Go With the Flow.” Tickets are $17. Comedian Aries Spears will perform at the Richmond Funny Bone in Short Pump on May 24 at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., May 25 at 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., and May 26 at 7 p.m. In addition to touring the country with his stand-up, Spears was a regular on Fox's "Mad TV" and NBC's "A Different World." He has appeared in feature films as well as several national talk shows. Spears maintains a strong connection to his African roots and is involved in many charitable events, including a number of organizations that help abused women. Tickets are $37. The CSz Richmond Theater, 8906-H West Broad Street, will present “Improv Time Machine” at 8 p.m. Friday, May 24. Two improvisors plan a dream getaway but their dream quickly turns into a nightmare when the time traveling begins. Where will they go? Who will they meet? Will they make it back to their own time? Tickets are $10. Additionally, on Saturday, May 25, ComedySportz Richmond will hold its weekly match at 7 p.m. Two teams will battle it out in this fast-paced interactive show. The Henrico Theatre, 305 East Nine Mile Road, will show three movies this weekend: "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes" (PG-13) at 7 p.m. May 24, "The Equalizer 3" (R) at 8 p.m. May 25, and "Trolls Band Together" (PG) at 3 p.m. May 26. The 2024 Sandston Memorial Day Parade will take place Monday, May 27. The parade will start at 1 p.m. on Williamsburg Road where it intersects with Beulah Road. The parade will proceed west and disband at North Confederate Avenue. A block party will follow from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sandston Recreation Area at 11 JB Finley Road.
