Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden will host its Spring Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 3-4 in parking lot B. The Garden’s plant sales are among the largest in the region with more than 40 vendors selling plants ranging from well-known favorites to rare exotics and other garden-related items. Experts will be on hand to answer gardening questions. The sale is presented by Garden volunteers and all proceeds benefit the Garden’s educational mission. Henrico Recreation and Parks will host a Movie in the Park at Deep Run Park on Friday, May 3. The movie, Space Jam: A New Legacy, will begin just after sunset at approximately 8 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and a flashlight. Admission is free. The Henrico Theatre Company will present “Some Enchanted Evening: The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein” May 3-4 at 8 p.m. and May 5 at 3 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. Five performers will explore the duo’s songs in different styles, including popular hits “If I Loved You,” “In My Own Little Corner,” “The Sound of Music,” “Shall We Dance?” and more. The HATTBox Players will present “Xanadu” at HATTheatre, 1124 Westbriar Drive in Henrico’s West End, at 7:30 p.m. May 3-4 and at 2 p.m. May 5. First a movie in 1980 that became a cult classic, “Xanadu” opened on Broadway in 2007 and ran for more than 500 performances. In adapting the film for stage, writer Carter Beane was influenced not only from “Xanadu” but by the 1981 fantasy film “Clash of the Titans.” At its core, the musical is a parody of the movie but it also retains the popular hits from the film and includes new arrangements of “I’m Alive,” “Magic” and “Dancin'” as well as integrating two classic Electric Light Orchestra songs, “Strange Magic” and “Evil Woman.” Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for youth/students. The Shady Grove Coffeehouse at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 11105 Cauthorne Road in Glen Allen, will present folk duo Robin and Linda Williams on Saturday, May 4 at 8 p.m. Robin and Linda are closing in on a five-decade-long career that has included 24 personal recordings, thousands of concerts on three continents, a Robert Altman-directed movie, and hundreds of performances on NPR’s “A Prairie Home Companion” and other radio and television shows. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door; teens 13-18 are admitted at half price and children 12 and under are free.
