Eleone Dance Theatre will perform at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen on Sunday, April 7 at 3 p.m. Dedicated to the preservation and creation of historical and contemporary theatre dance, Eleone celebrates intergenerational and uni- and multi-cultural themes that educate and entertain. Friends of Peter Paul will host Love Makes A Family Spring Fling, a semi-formal dance for families with children ages 10 and under, on Sunday, April 7 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Deep Run Recreation Center, 9900 Ridgefield Parkway. Enjoy dressing up and dancing to your favorite tunes by DJ Eric, taking family photos in front of springtime backdrops, and eating refreshments. Raffle prizes include a Children’s Museum of Richmond membership, swim lessons at Goldfish Swim School, classes at Martial Arts of the West End, gift certificates to Surge, Happy Palette and Art Factory, and more. Henrico Recreation and Parks will host Kite Day at Glover Park, 11217 Greenwood Road, on Sunday, April 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The fields will be transformed into a kite-flying zone where participants can decorate and fly kites, which will be provided. Singer-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo will perform at The Tin Pan on Sunday, April 7 at 8 p.m. He is touring in support of his latest album, “Echo Dancing,” which is a compilation of new and repurposed versions of songs from his past. The son of a Mexican immigrant and a Texas native, Escovedo has been involved with first-wave punk rock group The Nuns in San Francisco, the Judy Nylon band and the band True Believers. Opening the show and also performing in Escovedo’s band is James Mastro, a multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer-songwriter.
