The Craftsmen’s Spring Classic art and craft show will be held at the Richmond Raceway Complex from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 8, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 9, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 10. The show features original designs and work from hundreds of talented artists and craftspeople from more than 15 states. Items for sale include pottery, fine art, jewelry, clothing, furniture, sculpture, woodwork and more. Tickets at the door are $8 for adults ages 13 and older, $1 for children ages 6-12 and free for children under six. Discounted tickets are available online. HATTheatre, 1124 Westbriar Drive in Henrico’s West End, will present “From Up Here” at 7:30 p.m. March 8-9 and at 2 p.m. March 10. Set entirely on the Brooklyn Bridge, “From Up Here” is a one-act musical that explores time, change and the choices that shape the lives of five very different people, whose paths cross in the most unlikely of ways. The musical is from the same original UK producers of the worldwide hit “SIX.” Tickets, which include processing fees, are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors/students/military, and $20 for youth. One Voice Chorus, a nonprofit community choir, will present its winter 2024 concert at J.R. Tucker High School, 2910 North Parham Road, on Saturday, March 9 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. OVC will be joined by the Tucker High School Chorus and will perform an eclectic blend of musical styles including classical, opera, spirituals and popular music with accompaniment by professional and student instrumentalists. Prior to the concert, a “Diversity Discussion” will take place at 3 p.m. featuring a facilitated discussion of diversity-related issues. Tickets are $16 and can be purchased here.


The Shady Grove Coffeehouse at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 11105 Cauthorne Road in Glen Allen, will present folk duo Mustard’s Retreat on Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m. The duo has traveled more than a million miles and performed more than 6,000 shows, from pig roasts and pool parties to Lincoln Center Out of Doors, The Barns at Wolftrap and the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door; teens 13-18 are admitted at half price and children 12 and under are free. In honor of Women’s History Month, Book People in the Gleneagles Shopping Center will host “Women Write it Down,” a panel discussion featuring local authors Kristen Green (The Devil’s Half Acre), Judy Hart (A National Park for Women’s Rights), and Julie Fritz (Twinings: Poems at Eighty). The discussion will be moderated by Emmy Award-winning writer Rachel McRady (Sun Seekers). The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The focus of the discussion will be women authors discussing their works (both in process and already in print), their motivations in choosing their subject matter, and most importantly, what it means and what it’s like to be a female author and creator.
