The 2024 Richmond Home + Garden Show will take place at the Richmond Raceway Complex from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 1-2 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 3. The show will feature all things home improvement and landscape design with access to more than 200 exhibitors, including an array of local and national home remodeling and construction professionals and garden and landscaping experts who can help you create the home you’ve always wanted. Two home celebrity guests will be joining this year: Virginia Chamlee, author of the bestselling book “Big Thrift Energy: The Art and Thrill of Finding Vintage Treasures” and a writer for People Magazine, and Jeff Devlin, a carpenter/woodworker and HGTV, DIY and Magnolia Network host. The Henrico Theatre, 305 East Nine Mile Road, is celebrating the Oscars all month long and will show four different movies this weekend: "Dreamgirls" at 7 p.m. March 1, "Soul" at 3 p.m. March 2, "The Blind Side" at 8 p.m. March 2, and "Encanto" at 3 p.m. March 3. River City Community Players will present “Collected Stories” at 7:30 p.m. March 1 and at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. March 2 at the Gayton Kirk Presbyterian Church, 11421 Gayton Road. Donald Margulies’ “Collected Stories” exposes the conflict between an established short-story writer and her adoring fan who becomes a protégé, disciple, colleague and friend – and eventually a threatening rival. St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 9801 Fort King Road in Henrico, will hold its Spring Children’s Consignment Sale on Saturday, Mar. 2. The sale will take place from 8 a.m. to noon and then reopen with items half-off from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be clothing, toys, books, baby gear and more for sale. Proceeds benefit the church’s mission programs in local schools and community including the Kidz Kupboard program, which provides weekend meals to students who might otherwise go without, as well as school supplies to area elementary and middle schools. HATTheatre, 1124 Westbriar Drive in Henrico’s West End, will present “From Up Here” at 7:30 p.m. March 2 and at 2 p.m. March 3. Set entirely on the Brooklyn Bridge, “From Up Here” is a one-act musical that explores time, change and the choices that shape the lives of five very different people, whose paths cross in the most unlikely of ways. The musical is from the same original UK producers of the worldwide hit “SIX.” Tickets, which include processing fees, are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors/students/military, and $20 for youth.
