Country musician Brad Spivey will perform at the Henrico Theatre on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. Spivey has been performing traditional country music for Virginia audiences for more than 20 years, both as a solo performer and with his popular band The Honky Tonk Experience. His solo performances allow for a more intimate and personal audience experience as songs by Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Buck Owens, George Jones and others are lovingly and simply presented with just his voice and guitar. The Henrico Theatre Company will present Irving Berlin’s musical “Holiday Inn” by Chad Hodge and Gordon Greenberg Nov. 17-18 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. Jim leaves the bright lights of show business behind to settle down on his farmhouse in Connecticut where he quickly discovers life isn’t the same with a bit of song and dance. Jim’s luck takes a spectacular turn when he meets Linda, a spirited schoolteacher with talent to spare. Together they turn the farmhouse into a fabulous inn with dazzling performances to celebrate each holiday, from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July. But when Jim’s best friend, Ted, tries to lure Linda away to be his new dance partner in Hollywood, will Jim be able to salvage his latest chance at love? The Richmond VA Comicon will take place Saturday, Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Richmond Raceway. There will be a costume contest in addition to a variety of exhibitors.
