will host its annual Holly Jolly event Nov. 3-5. Shop local businesses all weekend long; many will have extended hours. A Holly Jolly Makers Market will be held Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the Lakeside Farmers Market will be open as usual on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to noon. There also will be festive music, a visit from Santa, food from Lakeside restaurants (SB’s Lakeside Loveshack, Killa Dillas, Hobnob and more) and the Haute Dayum food truck, and more. The annual Craftsmen’s Classic Art & Craft Festival–Christmas Show will be held Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Nov. 5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Richmond Raceway. Thousands of items (pottery, fine art, glass, jewelry, baskets, clothing, furniture, photography, specialty foods and more) will be available to purchase from functional and whimsical to decorative, conservative and funky. Meet the artists and exhibitors and see the creative process in action. Admission is $10 for adults, $1 for children 6-12 and free for ages five and below. Parking is free. The HATTBox Players, HATTheatre’s resident company of actors ages 10-18, will present “Les Misérables” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3-4 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at HATTheatre, 1124 Westbriar Drive in Henrico’s West End. Adapted by Tim Kelly from Victor Hugo’s timeless classic, this performance of “Les Misérables” has been specifically designed for simple production and is under two hours in length. The story follows the life of noble peasant Jean Valjean, an ex-convict imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread for his starving family, who is on the run from the relentless Inspector Javert. The Richmond Highland Games will take place Nov. 4-5 at its new location, Dorey Park in Varina. This area tradition features all things Celtic including heavy athletic competitions, Caber tossing, Highland and Irish dance competitions, harp and fiddle competitions, traditional foods and more. Research family history among the multiple clans and societies who will be present and shop the vendor village with more than 75 Highland and Celtic vendors and craftspeople. There also will be live music both days featuring Albannach, the Fighting Jamesons, Tan and Sober Gentlemen, Glasgow Kiss, the Donny Brooks and Clan Haggis. Advance online tickets are $12 for a single day and $20 for a weekend pass. Tickets at the gate are $20 for a single day and $30 for a weekend pass. Kids 12 and under are admitted free. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed; admission is $5 and proof of rabies vaccination. Parking is free. Proceeds from the festival benefit the Cullather Cancer Quality of Life Center at Bon Secours, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and other local charities. Cornerstone Farm at Fairfield Middle School will hold its third annual Fall Fest on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon. Shop from 20+ food and produce vendors at the Farmer’s Market or grab some food from food trucks. There also will be gardening workshops, activities for children of all ages, a live e-sports event, and more than 20 community organization booths to visit.
