The 2019 Summer Concert Series at the Henrico Theatre concludes with singer Sarah Walston from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Walston, who will perform favorites ranging from classical to contemporary, will be joined by pianist Charles Staples. West Broad Village will host the Back to School Fest from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Pad, 2301 Old Brick Road near Aloft Hotel. The event will include a balloon artist, airbrush tattoos, face painting, a dance competition and more. School supply donations for the Henrico Education Foundation are encouraged. Admission is free. Cars and Coffee Richmond, an informal biweekly car show of mature car enthusiasts, will meet at Regency Mall from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The family-friendly show is open to all types of motor vehicles from motorcycles to trucks and track cars. Vernon Baptist Church, 11220 Nuckols Road, will host an International Festival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn about international cultures while enjoying food, sports, games, and singing and dancing performances. The Richmond Showmasters Gun Show will be held at Richmond Raceway from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 24 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 25. Vendors at more than 800 tables will sell, buy or trade guns, swords, knives, decoys, hunting supplies, reloading supplies and components, ammo, books, militaria and more. A candidate forum for the Varina District school board seat will start at 10:30 a.m. at Varina Library. Following a meet-and-greet with the candidates, a forum with questions submitted by the attendees will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A moderator will select submitted questions prior to and at the event, and the same question will be provided to each candidate to address. James River Cellars Winery, 11008 Washington Highway in Glen Allen, will host Sundays in the Shade from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include live music by Luca Burgalassi and food from the Jus Cukn food truck. Admission is free. There will also be a free Wine 101 class from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Taught by winery owner Mitzi Batterson, the class will explore Virginia wine and the process of making wine. The Washington National Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys and the Choir of Men and Girls will perform from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at River Road Church, 8000 River Road. Founded in 1909 and 1997, respectively, are currently among the few cathedral choirs in the U.S. with an affiliated school in the English tradition. The children range in age from 9-14 and the men are professional musicians from the Washington/Baltimore area. Admission is free and open to the public, but advance tickets are encouraged. Virginia Cliffe Inn, 2900 Mountain Road, will hold a Wedding Yard Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will allow brides to shop, trade and sell all types of wedding supplies, including centerpieces, decorations, trays, signs and gowns.
