A candidate forum for the Varina District school board seat will start at 10:30 a.m. at Varina Library. Following a meet-and-greet with the candidates, a forum with questions submitted by the attendees will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A moderator will select submitted questions prior to and at the event, and the same question will be provided to each candidate to address. James River Cellars Winery, 11008 Washington Highway in Glen Allen, will host Sundays in the Shade from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include live music by Luca Burgalassi and food from the Jus Cukn food truck. The Washington National Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys and the Choir of Men and Girls will perform from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at River Road Church, 8000 River Road. Founded in 1909 and 1997, respectively, are currently among the few cathedral choirs in the U.S. with an affiliated school in the English tradition. The children range in age from 9-14 and the men are professional musicians from the Washington/Baltimore area. Admission is free and open to the public, but advance tickets are encouraged.
