MAY 17The 35th Annual Lebanese Food Festival, hosted by St. Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church, will be held on the church grounds near Innsbrook at 4611 Sadler Road from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 17-18 and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 19. The 15th annual Gallmeyer Farms Strawberry Fields Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Berry Patch, 3622 Darbytown Court in Varina. The festival features fresh local strawberries (pick your own or pre-picked), live music from Cedar Creek and Everwilde, food and craft vendors, free hay rides, activities for kids and more. New York City-based comedian Ben Wasserman will headline a show at Intermission Beer Company, 10089 Brook Road, at 7:30 p.m. Wasserman regularly performs his chaotic, high-concept, interactive comedy in NYC and all over the East Coast. Along with hosting the Time Out Critic's Pick showcase "Side Ponytail" in Crown Heights, Wasserman has appeared in numerous comedy festivals, and his work has been featured by VICE, Vulture, Paste Magazine, The Washington Post, and The Brooklyn Paper. He recently painted with his butt for MTV. Local talent will perform as well. The show is free with beverage purchase and is 21 and older only. The XL102 Big Field Day 2019 – featuring 311, k. flay, Dreamers, SYML and The Blue Stones – will start at 3 p.m. at Innsbrook After Hours. A mix of rock, reggae, hip-hop and funk, 311’s celebratory live shows and incessant touring schedule have earned them a massive grassroots following nationwide. k. flay, who grew up outside of Chicago, describes his sound as indie hip-hop mixed with electronics. Los Angeles-based Dreamers released its full-length debut LP, This Album Does Not Exist, in August 2016. Brian Fennell, who wrote and recorded a collection of songs under the name Syml, was adopted and shares the complex feelings that come from unknown lineage through his music. Tickets start at $26. The Friends of Meadow Farm will hold a yard sale to benefit the Kitchen Fund. This fund is to raise money to build an exterior kitchen at Meadow Farm Museum, 3400 Mountain Road. Dorey Park Farmers Market will kick off the 2019 market season with a Cajun Crawfish Boil at Fleur-de-lis Farms, 2666 Kingsland Road, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The menu includes crawfish, corn, potatoes, fixins, beer and more.
