Tuckahoe Plantation, 12601 River Rd., will hold a Christmas Open House from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guests can wander the rooms, decorated in 18th-century style, and learn about the plantation’s rich history. Treats and cider, prepared over an open fire, will be available and vendors will have Christmas gifts for sale. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 5-12. Three-Penny Theatre’s production of “A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story for Christmas” will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at The Gayton Kirk Presbyterian Church, 11421 Gayton Rd. In this one-person show, actor Ray Carver will play all the characters – from Scrooge to the ghosts and the whole Cratchit family, including Tiny Tim – over 40 different characters in all. The Henrico Pops Chorus’ winter concert, A Holiday Portrait, will take place at 7:30 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. VA Rep on Tour will present the holiday classic “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. Inspired by the poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas” and by the real life of its author, Clement Moore, this musical comedy introduces Santa in a particularly beneficent light. Tickets are $12. The Graphic Novel Book Club will meet at Gayton Library from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The group will discuss the diverse world of superheroes. Kids are invited into all JCPenney stores from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. to decorate a holiday ornament. This free craft will take place in the kid’s department. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The project is part of JCPenney’s new Kid Zone program, which offers a hands-on craft each month. Kids will receive a collectible pin for every project they finish and adults will receive a special 10 percent off coupon to use in-store on the day of the event.
