CAT Theatre, located at 319 N. Wilkinson Road, will present “Bingo! The Winning Musical” April 19 to May 4. This musical comedy is about a group of die-hard Bingo players who stop at nothing to get to their weekly game. In between number-calling, strange rituals and fierce competitions, love blossoms and long-lost friends reunite. Tickets are $33 for opening night and $13 to $23 for the remaining performances. The getfast1.com RVA List Night will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Richmond Dragway, 1955 Portugee Road in Sandston. The fastest street cars in Virginia will compete for bragging rights and a position on the Ultimate Street & Super Street RVA Lists. This event was originally scheduled for April 12 but postponed due to weather. General admission is $15 per person; kids 12 and under are free. Parking is free. Short Pump Town Center will present Field of Tulips, a garden oasis featuring thousands of Virginia-grown Bloomia tulips, during mall hours (10 a.m. to 9 p.m.) April 19-20. Before the new edition of J.R. Tucker High School begins this fall, alumni and friends are invited to a community celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school, 2910 N. Parham Road. Fifty-three classes have graduated from Tucker since the school opened in 1962. During the event, visitors can walk the Tucker campus, including the gym and football stadium. There will be J.R. Tucker clothing and other items for sale, as well as yearbooks, and visitors can buy hot dogs, popcorn and drinks. The 2019 Richmond Walk Like MADD and Dash 5k will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Road. Walk Like MADD is Mother’s Against Drunk Driving’s signature fundraising event to help raise both awareness and funds to eliminate drunk and drugged driving. Peter Rabbit will greet visitors and pose for photographs during Peek-a-Bloom at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-21. Activities in the Children’s Garden will include drawing with sidewalk chalk, hula hooping and making garden hats. Families can also borrow a basket from the Story Tree – inside each basket is a book, blanket and activity. A concert on the Bloemendaal Lawn will take place at 2 p.m. April 20. ComedySportz Richmond, 8906-H West Broad Street, will present David Lawson’s “Nazis & Me” from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. “Nazis & Me” is Lawson’s one-man show about confronting hate in a time when hateful Americans feel a strong sense of comfort – right now. Hate groups have always been a part of Lawson’s life, from watching vandalism and bomb threats at his hometown JCC to witnessing Trump-supporting relatives clash with LGBTQ relatives. Virginia Repertory Theatre will present the third production of the 2018-19 Children’s Season, “Pinocchio,” at 2 p.m. at the Children’s Theatre at Willow Lawn, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive. “Pinocchio,” based on the novel by Carlo Collodi, is the classic tale of Geppetto’s little wooden puppet whose only wish is to be a real boy. Henricus Historical Park will offer heirloom plant varieties for the home garden from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vegetable, herb and fruit seedlings will be for sale with all proceeds benefiting the development of new agricultural programs involving Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM Education).
