MAR 293 Penny Theatre will present “Molly Sweeney” March 29-30 and April 5-6 at The Gayton Kirk, 11421 Gayton Road. Based on Oliver Sacks’ medical case history “To See and Not See,” “Molly Sweeney” is a tale from Ireland of a blind woman’s chance to see again. The Latin Ballet has been representing Virginia and the United States for the past two years with “La Pasion de Poe,” touring nationally and internationally. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at www.henricolive.com. *** Virginia Repertory Theatre will present the third production of the 2018-19 Children’s Season, “Pinocchio,” March 29 to May 5 at the Children’s Theatre at Willow Lawn, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive. “Pinocchio,” based on the novel by Carlo Collodi, is the classic tale of Geppetto’s little wooden puppet whose only wish is to be a real boy. One Voice Chorus will present their spring concert “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue” at 7:30 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 4491 Springfield Road in Glen Allen. The performance combines modern choral compositional trends with a classical anthem. The Carytown Bicycle Co. 5k Run/Walk at GreenGate will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be prizes and goodie bags donated by businesses in the GreenGate shopping area. Friendly dogs welcome. Blues guitarist Selwyn Birchwood will perform at 7 p.m. at The Tin Pan, 8982 Quioccasin Road. Birchwood began playing at age 13, inspired by Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, Freddie King and Muddy Waters. At age 19, Texas-born blues legend Sonny Rhodes took him under his wing. He created The Selwyn Birchwood Band in 2010 and has been touring non-stop since the album “Don’t Call No Ambulance” debuted on Alligator Records in 2014. Jaron Myers, a standup comedian from Kansas City, Mo., will perform at ComedySportz Richmond, 8906-H W. Broad Street, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Myers currently has a comedy special on Amazon Prime and is known for his viral Chick-fil-A rap video with over 60 million views across the Internet.
