MAR 1HATTheatre, 1124 Westbriar Drive, will present “Every Brilliant Thing” Mar. 1-15. Chris Hester stars in this one-man show about a son who creates a list of things to live for – a list of everything brilliant about the world – in an attempt to raise the spirits of his chronically-depressed mom. As the story unfolds and the list expands, the son grows from a seven-year-old boy into manhood where he himself struggles with depression. Tickets are $12 to $25. Broad Street, will present a sensory-friendly performance at 3 p.m. This show is the same as CSz’s weekly matches – where two teams of improvisors go head-to-head for points and laughs – but is designed to be more accessible for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. Features include designated break spaces, low lighting, reduction of sound, limited crowds and spaced out seating. Tickets are $6. The Richmond Dragway, 1955 Portugee Road in Sandston, will kick off its 55th anniversary season with the first Test and Tune of 2019 at 10 a.m. The event features five hours of track time for all cars and all classes on the 1/8- and 1/4-mile finish line. The Henrico County Historical Society will hold its first quarterly meeting of 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at the Antioch School Community Center, 5650 Elko Road in Sandston. The speaker will be Charles “Chuck” Payne, a former Lakeside resident, retired attorney and author of 11 books. His latest book, “Chris, The True Story,” is about his mother’s struggles over adversity by working as an auto mechanic in mid-twentieth century Richmond.
