The Henrico Theatre Company will present “Ring of Fire – The Johnny Cash Musical” Feb. 22 to Mar. 3 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. CARE Talks, LLC will give a presentation celebrating Black History Month at the McShin Foundation, 2300 Dumbarton Road, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eight speakers will talk about discrimination, criminal justice, family healing and addiction solutions. CARE (Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Empowerment) Talks is a series of short but powerful talks on recovery and the innovative solutions for the addiction epidemic. Admission is free. Strange’s Florist and Garden Center, 12111 West Broad Street, will host the Virginia Orchid Society’s 13th Annual Orchid Show Feb. 22-24. In addition to the hundreds of orchids on display and for sale, the weekend will feature free workshops and lectures, guided tours, an orchid art exhibit and sale, children’s activities and free orchid repotting. The 16th annual Richmond Kids Expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Richmond Raceway. The expo provides parents with an engaging trade show atmosphere while kids enjoy a day of fun and entertainment in a safe indoor environment. There will be exhibitors and vendors, product demonstrations, educational seminars, live entertainment, contests and prizes, children’s activities, food and more. Meadow Farm Museum will present “History in Focus: A Series” on select Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. All ages are invited to explore historical topics in detail with staff-led specialty tours. Today’s topic is Come Freedom – learn how the Meadow Farm and other 19th-century enslaved people sought freedom both physically and spiritually. Explore religion, music and folk tales. The Henrico Theatre will host The Crooked Road on Tour from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This Virginia Heritage Music Trail concert celebrates the traditional music that has been kept by families and communities of Southwest Virginia since colonial times. The concert features Sandy Shortridge (guitar, vocals) and Erynn Marshall and Carl Jones (fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin). Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at www.henricolive.com.


East End Boxing Club will present the Winter Warz amateur boxing show from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Varina High School, 7053 Messer Road. The American Heart Association will hold a casting call to select real men and women from the Greater Richmond area who have been impacted by cardiovascular diseases and stroke and want to share their stories and inspire others.
