ComedySportz Richmond, 8906-H W. Broad Street, will offer two shows on New Year’s Eve at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. CSz pits two teams of professional players against each other in an improv battle for laughs and points as they make up scenes and songs on the spot based off audience suggestions. A referee calls fouls and the audience decides the winner. Both NYE shows will ring in the new year with a milk and Twinkies toast; the 10 p.m. show will feature champagne for those 21 and over. The Tin Pan, 8982 Quioccasin Road, will host a New Years Eve Bash with One Stop Pony Band. There are three dinner reservation times to choose from – 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. – with the show starting at 8:30 p.m. One Stop Pony Band pays tribute to many famous artists including Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffet, Paul Simon, Neil Diamond and more. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden’s New Year’s Eve Family Frolic will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy live music from the Ululating Mummies, a parade, photo opportunities with the Garden Keeper and more. Make your own New Year’s party hat and write your wish for 2019 and add it to the “wishing train.” Be a part of the Garden’s annual tradition of “rolling in the New Year” by rolling down the hill to the Cochrane Rose Garden. Ring in the New Year with comedian Micah “Bam Bamm” White at the Richmond Funny Bone at Short Pump Town Center. White has spent over 20 years in the entertainment industry. White also is the founder of RVA Has Talent, an organization that creates collaborations between local artists and nonprofits in the Greater Richmond community. Burlesque Right Meow will host a Pours and Pasties New Year’s Eve Bash from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Strangeways Brewing, 2277 Dabney Road. Ring in 2019 with an evening of burlesque, hoop dance, belly dance and more while enjoying beverages from Strangeways.
