Award-winning vocal ensemble The King’s Singers will present “A Christmas Concert” at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Road. Formed in 1968 by six recently-graduated choral scholars from King’s College, Cambridge, the group is celebrating its 50th birthday this year and its Gold season highlights the musical heritage of The King’s Singers and the future of vocal music in all its forms. Both religious and secular music will be played including classics such as “Carol of the Bells” and “O Holy Night” and a compilation of music from “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Free childcare is available to those who register by Dec. 3. The 80-voice choir and 33-piece orchestra will perform a collection of traditional and contemporary Christmas favorites, while thoughtful narration will explore The Christmas Story from a fresh perspective. The Central Virginia Wind Symphony will present their 14th annual Holiday Spectacular at two concerts in Henrico: Dec. 8 – 7 p.m. in the food court at Virginia Center Commons, 10101 Brook Road; and Dec. 9 – 3 p.m. at Hershey Center for the Arts at the Collegiate School, 103 N. Mooreland Road. Led by music director and local meteorologist Mike Goldberg, the symphony is comprised of talented high school musicians from across Central Virginia. Henrico Recreation and Parks will present Santa Paws from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Short Pump Park, 3329 Pump Road. Jewish Family Theatre will present “Annie” at 7:30 p.m. at the Weinstein Jewish Community Center, 5403 Monument Avenue. Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, “Annie” has become one of the world’s best-loved musicals, winning seven Tony Awards including Best Musical.
