Short Pump Town Center will host its first Fall Family Movie Night featuring the movie “Coco” from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The first 50 families will receive blankets courtesy of Capital One Café. Henrico Live will continue its fifth season with the Richard Williams Trio at 7 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre, 305 E. Nine Mile Road in Highland Springs. The trio – consisting of William Hayes on piano and vocals, J.T. Fauber on drums, and Richard Adams on sax, trumpet, trombone, bass and vocals – play a mix of ragtime, boogie woogie and old country. The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen will present “An Evening of Songs & Stories” featuring singer, actor and cabaret artist Georgia Rogers Farmer and pianist Joshua Wortham at 7 p.m. They will perform songs ranging from Broadway to pop and standards. Farmer has been featured in productions with Swift Creek Mill Theatre, Richmond Triangle Players, Virginia Repertory Theatre and others. The 50th annual Richmond Oktoberfest will take place from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. Oct. 19 and from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. Oct. 20 in the Old Dominion Building at Richmond Raceway. Enjoy authentic German food, beer and wine, as well as entertainment by the ACCA Shrine Sauerkraut Band, Gesangverein Virginia, SGTEV Hirschjäger Bavarian Dancers, Die Lustigen Almdudler and others. There will also be a raffle, beer stein hoisting contests for men and women, souvenirs for purchase and the Kinder Korner with age appropriate activities for children. CharacterWorks will present “Anne of Green Gables The Musical” Oct. 19-21 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. Based on L.M. Montgomery’s timeless classic, the story follows Anne Shirley, a feisty, red-haired orphan who arrives in the small town of Avonlea to the Cuthberts, who were expecting a boy to help on their farm, Green Gables. Henrico County’s annual Harvest Festival will join Glen Allen Ruritan Club’s annual Glen Allen Day to form one colossal event at Meadow Farm this year. A parade down Mountain Road will start at 9:30 a.m. Post-parade activities will start at 10:30 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. Three large stages will feature live music, lumberjack shows and other entertainment throughout the day. Games and inflatables for kids in preschool through middle school will be available with proceeds benefiting the PTA at Glen Allen Elementary School. Ticket bundles start at $2 for five tickets. The 28th annual Short Pump Ruritan Craft Show will be held inside Short Pump Middle School, 4701 Pouncey Tract Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include more than 70 crafters and vendors. Items for sale will include handmade jewelry, home decor, holiday gifts, baked goods, homemade jellies and jams, pottery, original artwork, crocheted hats and scarves, doll clothes, handmade soap and candles, among others. The Junior League of Richmond will present its 13th annual Touch a Truck event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Richmond Raceway. This unique and interactive event allows children to see, touch and safely explore their favorite big trucks and heavy machinery – including construction equipment, tractor trailers, car carriers, fire trucks, ambulances, CHoR Helicopter Transport and a police scuba boat – as well as to meet the personnel who protect, serve, and build the Richmond community. Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 Forest Avenue, will host the annual Handmade Harvest Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 30 vendors will be participating with a variety of crafts and other items for sale including jewelry, clothing, original art, natural products, doll clothes, woodworking, wreaths, photography and more. The University of Richmond’s 20th annual Trick or Treat Street will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Stern Plaza, located at the Quad in front of Jepson Hall. There will be a straw maze, bounce houses, face painting, petting zoo, food trucks and a variety of activities, games and crafts. Henrico County Recreation and Parks will present Sunday Afternoon with the Classics from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Deep Run Park. Today’s topic will be “Racing in Richmond – Lap 2.” Bruce Woodson and Richmond Region AACA, along with a panel of racing experts including drivers, pit crew members and owners, will give a nostalgic presentation of the area’s best known “circle” tracks and most memorable events.
