West Broad Village will conclude its annual Rock & Roll Summer Concert Series from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Pad, 2301 Old Brick Rd., near Aloft Hotel. Performing tonight is HonkyTonk Heroes, a country party band playing classic and contemporary country from the past six decades. There will also be raffles, games, food, drinks and vendors. CAT Theatre – which earlier this month announced that it would cease operations Oct. 31 because it could not reach agreement to stay in its current venue – will hold a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. to discuss possible options with interested community members. Theater officials have received “an outpouring of concern” from patrons and others in the theater community since the announcement, they said. They have received suggestions of possible new venues but cannot consider those without significant help – both in volunteer and financial form – they wrote in an e-mail to supporters earlier this week. The Heart Festival will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 2230 E. Parham Rd. The festival will feature immersive speakers, yoga and tai chi classes, guided meditation sessions, physical fitness challenges, kid’s activities, food trucks, cooking demos, holistic practitioners, healing sessions, Reiki, outdoor activities, traditional Japanese drums, Brazilian martial art dance and more. The creators of the Seafood Splash will present the all new Crab Festival from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hadad’s Lake, 7900 Osborne Tnpk. Festival goers will enjoy music from Jay Baxter & The Sauce, DJ Drake, Sir RJ, DJ MG, DJ Marc and Stormin Norman. Hosts are Choco, Kels and Mike Street. Adult Prom RVA 2018 will be held at 8 p.m. at the Four Points by Sheraton at 4700 S. Laburnum Ave. This second-chance, 21 and older, formal event will feature music, food and drinks, gifts, an onsite photographer and more. Attendees also will vote for King and Queen. The adult prom concept was conceived by Theresa “Miss Lady Tweet” who wanted to relive her prom. She is a domestic violence survivor and went to her high school prom with her abuser. Cyrus McCormick & The Reapers will perform at 7 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre, 305 E. Nine Mile Rd. The Reapers formed in 1971 at Hampden-Sydney College, but they got their start as The Baracudas locally in Highland Springs. They play everything from doo-wop to rock and roll. The Richmond Showmasters Gun Show will be held at the Richmond Raceway Complex from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 25 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 26. Vendors at over 800 tables will sell, buy or trade guns, swords, knives, decoys, hunting supplies, reloading supplies and components, ammo, books, militaria and more. Varina Library will hold a book sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A large variety of well-sorted books, DVDs, CDs and puzzles for all ages will be available at bargain prices. Libbie Mill Midtown will host the Midtown State Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. around Libbie Lake.  Enjoy old-fashioned cake and kale walks, farmer cook-offs, heirloom vegetables, culinary spelling bees, chicken impersonating, pickle-face making, aluminum foil origami, music, dancing and more.  There will be fresh-from-the-farm produce, savory and sweet food truck offerings, craft beer and other items for sale.  Net proceeds benefit Tricycle Urban Ag.  Admission is free.  For details, visit www.midtownstatefair.com.


Walkerton Tavern will host Sundae Funday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy free ice cream from Scoops ice cream truck, while supplies last.
