Innsbrook After Hours will present 11-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jamey Johnson at 6 p.m. at the SERVPRO of Richmond Pavilion. He is one of only a few people in the history of country music to win two Song of the Year trophies – for “Give it Away” and “In Color” – from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. ComedySportz Richmond, 8906-H W. Broad St., will present a sensory-friendly performance at 3 p.m. This performance is like CSZ’s weekly shows – where two teams of improvisors go head-to-head for points and laughs – but is designed to be more accessible for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. Features include relaxed house rules, designated break spaces, limited crowds and spaced out seating, low lighting so patrons can move around throughout the performance, reduction of sound and a glow stick raised when a loud noise is coming, and a pre-visit social story available online. Henrico Schools will host a Back-to-School Kickoff from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 N. Laburnum Ave. The event will start with the ManUp organization’s “Walk a Mile with Your Child” followed by an information fair, free books, food trucks, a DJ, door prizes, school supplies, school performances, onsite school registration and more. Children’s activities include a Splash Zone, math and reading activities, inflatables, face painting and giveaways. Henrico Police will provide rabies vaccines for dogs and cats from 9 a.m. to noon at the Henrico County Government Center, 4301 E. Parham Rd. Pet owners must register and pay at the cashier’s office in the Administration Building before seeing a veterinarian on the first level of the adjacent parking deck. Each vaccine costs $10 and must be paid in cash. A rabies tag and certificate of inoculation are included. Pets from all localities are welcome. Henrico dog licenses will be available for $10. The 7th annual Youth Triathlon, presented by Endorphin Fitness, will take place from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Virginia Home for Boys and Girls, 8716 West Broad St. The race is open to boys and girls ages 5-14 and features a short pool swim, bike course, and a run on level playing fields on VHBG’s campus in Henrico. All race fee donations will benefit the children at VHBG. There also will be food vendors, an awards presentation and bounce house. CAKE and Ben Folds, with special guest Tall Heights, will perform at 7 p.m. at Virginia Credit Union LIVE! at Richmond Raceway. CAKE’s most recent album, “Showroom of Compassion,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart. The band is currently working on its ninth studio album, due for release later this year.
