ComedySportz Richmond will host the Sweet T Tourney 2018 at 7:30 p.m. July 27 and at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. July 28. CSZ Richmond will welcome players from 29 cities – including Boston, Indianapolis, Washington D.C. and others – who will battle for the Sweet Tea Cup. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. SPARC will perform the school edition of “Aida” at 7:30 p.m. July 27-28 and at 2 p.m. July 28-29 at the Henrico Theatre in Highland Springs. An enslaved Nubian princess, Aida, finds her heart entangled with Radames, an Egyptian soldier who is betrothed to the Pharaoh's daughter, Amneris. As their forbidden love blossoms, Aida is forced to weigh her heart against the responsibility that she faces as the leader of her people. Featuring music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice. West Broad Village will present its annual Rock & Roll Summer Concert Series every other Friday through August from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Pad, 2301 Old Brick Rd., near Aloft Hotel. Performing tonight is The Barons, a rock band from Charlottesville. There will also be raffles, games, food, drinks and vendors. The concert is free and open to the public. Terry Lee Goffee will present “The Ultimate Johnny Cash Tribute” at 8 p.m. at The Tin Pan, 8982 Quioccasin Rd. Goffee doesn’t just sing Cash’s songs – which include classics such as “A Boy Named Sue,” “I Walk the Line” and “Hurt” – he becomes Johnny Cash from the moment he walks onstage. Goffee’s tribute has taken him across the U.S., Canada, Ireland and the UK. In 2009, he was selected to provide the moves for the Johnny Cash character in Guitar Hero 5. Four-piece rock band Weeping Molly will perform at the Lakeside Tavern, 5406 Lakeside Ave., from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Richmond-based Weeping Molly features Elana Lisa on vocals, Rob Birzer on guitar, Rich Dattilo on bass and Rod Hyner on drums. Innsbrook After Hours will present hip-hop artist Nelly at the SERVPRO of Richmond Pavilion. His newest single is “Freaky With You” featuring Jacquees. Special guest TBA. The 1 Step 2 Health Foundation will host a Family Cycle Ride from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Dorey Park. Explore all that nature and Virginia have to offer while bike riding with family on the Capital Trail. All levels and ages welcome; there will be three waves of riders – advanced, intermediate and beginners. Bikes and helmets will be loaned out based on inventory levels; the underserved population will have priority. Family Cycle Rides continue every other Saturday until Oct. 20. RVA Community Fun Day will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Touch of Class Event Hall, 5103 Thrush Ln. in Henrico. There will be games, food, door prizes, cooking and yoga demos, a dunk tank, entertainment for all ages and more. Alex Whittley, NBC12 reporter, will emcee the event and Henrico Police Chief Humberto Cardounel, Jr. will provide opening remarks. Fairfield MS counselor Teshia LeSane will perform. A fundraiser will be held for back-to-school supplies for Fairfield Court ES and Anna Julia Cooper Episcopal School. The event is sponsored by Monica L. Ball, host of Real Talk with Monica, and Rising Towards Success, a nonprofit that serves youth and young adults in underprivileged communities. Open to the public.
