The Henrico Theatre Company will present the romantic comedy “The Senator’s Wife” July 13-29 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. When Louise Larraby, the charming widow of Democratic Senator Ted Larraby, agrees to marry Republican Senator Richard Townsend, the worlds of both families are turned upside down. Virginia Repertory Theatre will present “Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical” July 13 to Aug. 12 at The Children’s Theatre at Willow Lawn. Based on the Caldecott Honor-winning picture book of the same name by Mo Willems, the story revolves around Trixie, who leaves her beloved Knuffle Bunny at the laundromat. Disaster ensues in this wacky, heart-warming tale that is perfect for kids and adults alike. Suggested for ages three and up. Single tickets start at $18. West Broad Village will present its annual Rock & Roll Summer Concert Series every other Friday through August from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Pad, 2301 Old Brick Rd., near Aloft Hotel. Performing tonight is Groove Train, a disco tribute band complete with groovy costumes, outrageous hairstyles and showmanship. There will also be raffles, games, food, drinks and vendors. Wilton House Museum’s Jammin’ on the James summer concert series continues from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Bring a picnic dinner and your favorite lawn chair for family-friendly music on the scenic terrace overlooking the James River. The performer for July is Handsome Molly – their music combines the best of traditional Irish, English and Scottish tunes. The Gayton Kirk Presbyterian Church, 11421 Gayton Rd., is seeking volunteers for their annual Rise Against Hunger event at 5 p.m. The church will be packing meals for school children across the world. The goal is 25,000 meals. Local businesses helping out include Colonial Veterinary Hospital, Health Visions M.D. Inc., Chase Inc. and Infinite Choices, Inc.
