The 24th annual Great Varina Shrimp Feast at Glendale will take place from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 6188 Charles City Rd. Dinner includes shrimp, fish, hush puppies, cole slaw, baked beans, hot dogs and beverages, and will be served from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Live music will be provided by country rock showband Crazy X. Admission is $25 to $30 for adults, $8 for children 6-12 and free for kids five and under. No coolers or take-out. The 34th annual Lebanese Food Festival, hosted by St. Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church, will be held on the church grounds next to Innsbrook at 4611 Sadler Rd. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 18-19 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 20. There will be authentic Lebanese cuisine and music, family fun and entertainment for all ages. Admission and parking are free. Desirée Roots Centeio will present the Ladies of Jazz at 7 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre in Highland Springs. Centeio will bring to life the ladies of jazz including Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Billie Holliday and Lena Horne. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at www.henricolive.com.


SingleStone Consulting will host its second annual Cornhole for a Cause charity cornhole tournament from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 4101 Cox Rd. Enjoy music by DJ Chill and the food trucks Growlers to Go and Bikini Panini. Proceeds benefit Sportable, an organization that transforms the lives of people with physical and visual disabilities through sport. Crossroads Art Center, 2016 Staples Mill Rd., will host an Open House and Artist Reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Featuring the work of Kim Brundage, David Tanner, Chester Artists Association, Curney Nuffer and students, and the juried all-media and members shows. The 14th annual Gallmeyer Farms Strawberry Fields Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Berry Patch, 3622 Darbytown Ct. in Varina. The festival features fresh local strawberries (pick your own or pre-picked), live music from Cedar Creek and Cisco, food and craft vendors, free hay rides, pony rides ($5) and more. The University of Richmond, in conjunction with Falls of the James Group – Sierra Club, will present the 21st annual Big Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Robins Stadium, 21 Boatwright Dr. on the UR campus. The sale features students’ discards and includes men’s and women’s casual and formal clothing, shoes, linens, kitchen and household items, sporting goods, books, office supplies, appliances, lamps, office chairs and more. Proceeds benefit the University of Richmond Office for Sustainability and Falls of the James Group – Sierra Club conservation programs.


The Henrico County Police Division will provide rabies vaccines for dogs and cats from 9 a.m. to noon at the Henrico County Government Center, 4301 E. Parham Rd. Pet owners must register and pay at the cashier’s office in the Administration Building before seeing a veterinarian on the first level of the adjacent parking deck. Each vaccine costs $10 and must be paid in cash. A rabies tag and certificate of inoculation are included. Pets from all localities are welcome. Cats must be in carriers. Henrico dog licenses will be available for $10. Licenses now are valid for the life of the animal while the owner lives in Henrico and its rabies vaccinations are kept current.
