A Women’s Career Fair will be held from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at New Bridge Learning Center, 5915 Nine Mile Rd. Get tips and coaching on resume writing, job applications, email and phone etiquette. Vendors and job recruiters will be present.


Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden will present the Richmond African Violet Society Show & Sale Apr. 13-15. Interesting and unusual African violet varieties will be on display and for purchase. Sale hours are 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Apr. 13 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Apr. 14-15. The show will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Apr. 14 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Apr. 15.  Admission is free and open to the public; regular admission price to enter the Garden. Goldfish Swim School, located at Gayton Crossing Shopping Center at 9782 Gayton Rd., will celebrate its Grand Opening with a free family swim from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be face painting, arts and crafts, a photo booth, refreshments and more. The Henrico NAACP and the Hon. Frank J. Thornton will sponsor a Financial Literacy Community Workshop from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Eastern Henrico Recreation Center. This workshop will provide educational resources to individuals and businesses that are interested in learning more about bridging the gap in making effective financial decisions. Local community leaders from various financial institutions will be on hand to answer questions and provide important information that will enhance your financial wellness. A Doll and Bear Show & Sale will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Colonial Building at the Richmond Raceway Complex. The Shady Grove Coffeehouse at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 11105 Cauthorne Rd. in Glen Allen, will present singer-songwriter David Mallett and local folk favorite George Turman at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door; teens are admitted at half price and children age 12 and under are free. Richmond Family Magazine’s 8th annual Summer Adventure Expo will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Peak Experiences RVA at the Sports Center of Richmond, 1385 Overbrook Rd. More than 60 summer camps from Richmond and beyond will be present with information on their programs. There will also be games, crafts, live demonstrations, food and prizes. Henrico County Recreation and Parks will present “Sunday Afternoon with the Classics” from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Deep Run Park.
