FEB 28River City Community Players will present “Making God Laugh” Feb. 28 to Mar. 8 at Chamberlayne Actors Theatre, 319 N. Wilkinson Road. Traditional Irish ensemble Danú will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Richmond’s Modlin Center for the Arts. For 25 years, Danú’s virtuosi players on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, bouzouki and vocals (Irish and English) have performed around the globe and recorded seven critically acclaimed albums. The Jewish RVA Inclusion Taskforce will host a Community Havdalah Celebration from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Weinstein JCC, 5403 Monument Avenue. In honor of Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month, the ReelAbilities Diversity and Inclusion Festival and ShabbaTTogether, the community-wide program celebrates disability inclusion and mental wellness. “Remembering World War II: A Series” continues at Belmont Recreation Center from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The topic for March will be “Women in Baseball” – historian Amanda Williams will discuss the history of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League during WWII. While initially conceived as a novelty, the women who played in this league quickly demonstrated their skill and helped make the case for professional sports for women. Admission is free. Pineapple-Shaped Lamps, a traveling comedy and theatre troupe, will conclude its tour to Richmond with “Powerpints!” at ComedySportz Richmond, 8906-H W. Broad Street, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Improvisers will give presentations on a topic of the audience's choosing, using PowerPoint slides none of them have ever seen before. The Henrico County Historical Society will hold its first quarter meeting at 2:30 p.m. at Meadow Farm Museum, 3400 Mountain Road. The speaker will be Bob Lehr, history programmer and site manager of Dabbs House Museum. Lehr has worked with Henrico County since 2005.
