NOV 15The Vintage Home Market will take place Nov. 15-16 at Richmond Raceway. Vintage, shabby, rustic, French Country, industrial and farmhouse chic dealers and artisans will showcase their treasured finds and creations. VIP Preview Party on Nov. 15 ($10) will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will include live music, beer and wine tastings, and early bird shopping. Hours on Nov. 16 are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5. Children 12 and under are free both days. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Kidney Foundation. The annual show started in the 1980s and features a unique collection of crafts, candles, gifts, jewelry and baked goods created by over 50 area crafters, artists and bakers. The Varina High School PTSA will host a free Community Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school, 7053 Messer Road. There will be food trucks, jumping castle, face painting, Step and dance team performances, a silent auction, cornhole tournament, vendors and more. The event is a fundraiser for the scholarship fund, and donations of new blankets and pajamas for kids in foster care will be accepted. One Voice Chorus and guest conductor Landry Duvall will present the Fall 2019 concert, “Common Threads,” from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at River Road Presbyterian Church, 8960 River Road. Inspired by Andrea Ramsey’s “Common Threads,” the concert will combine music from a variety of styles to provide a musical representation of OVC’s core values and principles. Tickets are $15. The 38th Annual Capital of the Confederacy Civil War Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 16 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at Richmond Raceway. The show will feature more than 300 tables offering a wide variety of Civil War relics, memorabilia, artifacts, swords and more. Admission is $10 for adults and free for children under 12. The 10th annual Richmond Beeristoric tour will take place November 17 from noon to 6 p.m. Tickets ($65 at the Richmond Beeristoric page on Facebook) include a bus tour with seven stops, beer from area craft breweries, food, and history. The tour will kick off with dedication of the new James River Steam Brewery historic marker at Rocketts Landing at 1 p.m. and a visit to the Yuengling beer caves. All proceeds benefit the work of the Richmond Beeristoric nonprofit – which made the James River Steam Brewery historic marker a reality – to support local beer history and current area breweries.


The 2nd Annual Richmond T. Rex Run will be held at 3 p.m. at Dorey Park. The event is a 0.4-mile fun run and will not be timed. It is free and open to anyone five years or older. Although inflatable, full-body T. Rex costumes are preferred, any species of dinosaur is welcome. The T. Rex Run is hoping to set the Guinness World Record for “largest gathering of people dressed as dinosaurs” – a record currently held in Los Angeles, Calif. with 252 people.
