Hardy Central Baptist Church, 4655 Darbytown Road, will host a Fall Fest with music, games, food and more from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Children's Museum of Richmond will celebrate artoberVA with its first Creative in Residence since 2000. On select dates between Oct. 19 and Nov. 16, guests will be able to work alongside Nastassja Swift as she leads wool-felting demonstrations and workshops. Swift will visit CMoR Short Pump, located at Short Pump Town Center, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (break from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.) She will unveil her permanent installation in the Art Studio at the Downtown location on Nov. 16. Safe Harbor will host the Walk to End It at 1 p.m. at Deep Run Park. The approximately three-mile walk will begin at 2 p.m. Funds raised will support Safe Harbor’s shelter and program services for human trafficking survivors. Dr. John Zeisel, author of “I’m Still Here,” will speak at Beth Sholom Senior Living Community, 1550 John Rolfe Parkway, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The founder of Hearthstone Institute, Zeisel is the developer of the pioneering, engagement-focused memory care philosophy, I’m Still Here. The I’m Still Here approach transforms and enriches the lives of those living with dementia and Alzheimer’s. It represents a radical paradigm shift in dementia care by eliciting an unprecedented level of true engagement from participants, enabling them to remain creative and actively engaged throughout their lives. Beth Sholom’s partnership with the Hearthstone Institute to implement the I’m Still Here approach in all its memory care units in Richmond is the only program of its kind in Central Virginia.
