OCT 11Tom Leonard’s, 4150 Tom Leonard Drive in Short Pump, will host its annual free Friday Night Movie at the Pumpkin Patch at 7 p.m. in the outdoor haybale theater. Tonight’s movie is “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.” There will be cider and hot chocolate. Friday night movies are held every Friday in October. The Varina Ruritan Club will host its first annual car Cruise-In from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 8081 Recreation Road. This free, family-friendly event features some of the area’s most unique classic and antique vehicles, as well as custom cars, sports cars, and trucks. Car entry is free for clubs or individual owners. There will also be food trucks, music and a 50/50 contest. Varina Youth Sports will host a fall festival at Dorey Park from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring raffles, food vendors, face-painting, a costume contest, bounce house, games and more. The event is free and open to the public.


The Whiskey Rebellion will perform from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre. The band mixes bluegrass, jazz and rock to create their own unique take on everything from traditional bluegrass to anthemic party favorites. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at henricolive.com. VA Rep on Tour will present “Hansel & Gretel” at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. The musical, a retelling of The Brothers Grimm fairy tale, follows Hansel and Gretel who stray from the path and end up at a witch’s gingerbread house. Chanticleer will perform at 7:30 p.m. at River Road Church, 8000 River Road. The Grammy Award-winning ensemble is known as an “orchestra of voices” for its blend of 12 male voices ranging from soprano to bass. The Richmond Mac and Cheese Festival will be held from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Richmond Raceway. Top chefs, food trucks and food vendors will prepare more than 30 varieties of mac and cheese to sample, as well as craft beers, wines and cider. The Fairfield Ruritan Club will host a barbecue chicken dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Antioch School Community Center, 5650 Elko Road in Sandston. The dinner includes half a barbecue chicken, potatoes, beans, bread, a beverage and dessert for $9 for adults. Meals for children 12 and younger are $5. Eat-in or take-out. Proceeds benefit the club and will be used to assist members of the community.

West Broad Village’s annual Fall Fest will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Pad, 2301 Old Brick Road, near Aloft Hotel. Family-fun activities include pumpkin carving, face painting, live music, an automobile show, pet costume contest and more. Admission is free and open to the public.
