SEPT 27CAT Theatre, 319 N. Wilkinson Road in Henrico, will present “Art of Murder,” winner of the 2000 Edgar Award for Best Mystery Play, Sept. 27 to Oct. 3. Jack Brooks, an accomplished and eccentric painter, awaits the imminent arrival of his art dealer. The visit doesn’t go well, however, and Jack decides to kill the man. Gallmeyer Farms will hold its Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 28-29 at The Pumpkin Patch, 4506 Millers Lane. There will be live music, pick-your-own pumpkins, crafts vendors, local businesses, food and children’s activities including hay rides and pony rides, a free bounce house, and more. Henrico County will celebrate National Yoga Month with the first Yoga in the Park from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Short Pump Park. The English Channel will present an all-new edition of their fab concert experience, “AM/FM Hits of the British Invasion Decade,” from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre. U.K. band Bastille will play Virginia Credit Union Live! at Richmond Raceway at 7:30 p.m. Bastille debuted in 2013 with the album “Bad Blood,” which has since sold more than four million albums worldwide. The Modlin Center for the Arts at the University of Richmond will present “Nobuntu,” an African concept that values humbleness, love, unity and family from a woman’s perspective, at 3 p.m. They work to transcend racial, tribal, religious, gender and economic boundaries in their native Zimbabwe and around the world by performing Zimbabwean, Afro jazz and gospel songs with minimalistic percussion and traditional instruments. River Road Church, 8000 River Road, will offer a seminar for parents on “Mindful Screen Time for Healthy Families” from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. VCU counselor Nina Schroder will discuss the value and challenges of navigating technology as well as provide parents with helpful insight into the potential cognitive, social, and mental health effects of high screen use.
