SEPT 20Gary Allan will perform at Innsbrook After Hours at 6 p.m. A native of California, Allan made his country music debut in 1996 and has since released nine studio albums. Henrico County will host Time Travelers Weekend, an opportunity to time-travel through Henrico and Richmond history by visiting area historic sites. From noon to 4 p.m. (operating hours may vary by site) Sept. 21-22, citizens may visit participating sites free of charge including Clarke-Palmore House, Courtney Road Gas Station, Dabbs House Museum, Deep Run Schoolhouse, Meadow Farm Museum at Crump Park, Virginia Randolph House and others. The FIDO 5K benefiting FETCH a Cure will take place at Innsbrook, 4901 Lake Brook Drive, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event features a one-mile walk with dogs or a 5K run. The post-race Furry Festival includes music, food trucks, dog-friendly vendors, a Pooch Parade and more. Christ Church Children’s Consignment Sale will be held at the church, 5000 Pouncey Tract Road, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Doors will close from 11:30 a.m. to noon. St. Mary and St. Mercurius Coptic Orthodox Church, 2101 Fordson Road in Henrico, will host the second annual Egyptian Festival from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 21 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 22. The festival will include authentic Egyptian food and culture, pictures with pharaohs, henna tattoos, face painting, activities for kids and more. Admission is free and open to the community. The 17th-century ship replica from Jamestown Settlement, Godspeed, will dock at Henricus Historical Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 21-22 as the park celebrates the 1611 founding of the Citie of Henricus. Free tours of the ship will be available each day, along with colonial and Virginia Indian living-history interpretation, including a military timeline of soldiers through the ages. Activities and demonstrations will include military drills, craftsmen and blacksmiths, 17th-century medicine, historical children’s games and crafts and more. Admission is $5. The film “The Secret Life of Pets 2” (2019, PG, 86 minutes) will play at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre. Max’s life is upended once again when his owner gets married and has a child. The Weinstein JCC, 5403 Monument Avenue, will present “Telling Their Stories: An Evening of Cabaret” at 7:30 p.m. Natan Berenshteyn and Debra Clinton, two iconic figures for arts and culture in the Richmond Jewish community, will share stories and songs that are meaningful to them and explore popular music of the 20th century through the lens of Broadway and beyond.
