The Rink at West Broad Village will operate, weather permitting, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Dec. 29, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Dec. 30 and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 31. Cost is $10 for adults and $8 for children 10 and under; skate rental and skate aid are $5 each. Beer, wine and snacks will be available on Friday and Saturday nights. Glen Allen Library will present “Drive-In Movie” from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Get out of the house and decorate your very own box car in this fun program for children ages three and up. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden’s New Year’s Eve Family Frolic will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy live music and a parade, make your own New Year’s party hat and have photos taken with the Garden Keeper. Be a part of the Garden’s annual tradition of “rolling in the New Year” by rolling down the hill to the Cochrane Rose Garden. ComedySportz Richmond, 8906-H W. Broad St., will offer two shows on New Year’s Eve: an all-ages early show at 7 p.m. and a late show at 10 p.m. The early show will feature a milk and Twinkie toast for the young; the late show includes a free champagne toast for the 21+ crowd. Adult beverage sales at both shows will benefit CJ’s Thumbs Up Foundation. Tickets are $16 to $20 for the early show and $20 to $24 for the late show. Advance reservations are recommended. The Children’s Museum of Richmond – Short Pump, located in Short Pump Town Center, will celebrate Noon Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be character appearances, education stations, art projects, a countdown to noon celebration and more. The Tin Pan, 8982 Quioccasin Rd., will host a New Year’s Eve Bash with The Skip Castro Band. There are three dinner reservation times to choose from -  7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. – with the show starting at 8:30 p.m. The Skip Castro Band, known for their love of rhythm ‘n blues, swing, boogie woogie and rock ‘n roll, is celebrating their 40th anniversary. Ring in the New Year with comedian Leonard Ouzts at the Richmond Funny Bone at Short Pump Town Center. Ouzts is a native of South Carolina and current resident of Chesapeake, Va. His mentors include Micah "Bamm Bamm" White, Bodacious, Angus Black and Alycia Cooper. Ouzts’ long term aspirations include acting, major tours, and possibly writing a book about his experiences. PumpHouse will perform at Rare Olde Times, 10602 Patterson Ave., from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Based in Richmond, PumpHouse puts their own creative flair on traditional blues, R&B and rock. Featuring Wayne Chaplin on guitar, Lutha Lucas on vocals, Pete Daniel on bass guitar, Chris Leitch on trombone/keyboard and vocals, Junie Carter on saxophone, and super percussionist James Bannow on drums.
